Current Favourites #3

I love reading/watching favourites. I'm not really one to do "seasonal/monthly" favourites as I can't keep up with them since I sometimes change up my routine. I like to do a "current favourites" once I've established a few or more products I see myself gravitating a lot towards, otherwise I would just be claiming everything as my favourite and that wouldn't be as real. I like to think that if you notice yourself using a certain product constantly every so often then you can most definitely see it as a favourite!

*NARS Light Reflecting pressed setting powder in translucent crystal - I love how finely milled this powder is. It is literally as the name says, a translucent crystal powder. There's a slight shimmer/sheen within it but it doesn't show up on your skin. I find it gives your skin a beautiful glow and doesn't look powdery at all. It settles nicely and sets your foundation whilst being light weight and natural looking.

*Muji thin cotton buds - After seeing Tamira Jarrel rave about these simple cotton buds I knew I had to try them. The fact that they're ultra thin, precise and great quality of compacted cotton makes it so easy to use for fixing any makeup mistakes. My friend Lisa surprised me with a packet from her Sydney trip a few months ago and I was so happy to try them! I can't wait to finally visit a Muji store to stock up on them. I will be going to Melbourne on Wednesday so I am super excited.

*REN Radiance Perfection serum - I've been trialling this serum for a few months now and have noticed an amazing change in my skin. I use this at night before I go to sleep, mainly to let it sink into my skin whilst I am sleeping — occasionally I like to use it during the day when I am makeup-free. My skin has had its moments of being extremely dry to being normal and at the time of using this serum I was dealing with a lot of dry patches. My skin was in desperate need of a boost of hydration and nourishment so this arrived perfectly in time. I was kindly sent this as a gift from Luxola and I've been wanting to try more REN products since owning a few from their range and being super impressed. After only a few uses I noticed a difference in my skin, it was definitely more nourished, plumped and my dry patches had gone away. I could also see my hyperpigmentation had lightened and that is one of my main skin concerns. With amazing bio extracts such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and glycogen I can definitely see myself repurchasing this and having it permanent in my skin regime.

Hourglass Panoramic long wear lip liner in Eden - I think by now you can tell what types of lip shades I gravitate towards — brown/rose. I honestly cannot have enough of them! This one is no exception, I love the formula if these lip pencils, they're so smooth and have a thick wax texture which keeps the longevity on your lips. I think one thing to make sure when applying this lip pencil like most, is to always make sure your lips aren't dry or flaky or it won't apply nicely due to its thick consistency. The shade Eden is so lovely and is the perfect everyday shade. A bonus is the Hourglass lip pencils come with a great quality lip brush on the other end of the pencil.

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth lip colour in Spiced Rose - I've spoken about these lipstick so much lately that I'm sure you're probably sick of hearing about it from me. I just had to of course add this to my favourites as it is almost all I've been wearing. I love pairing this with a good brown/rose nude lip liner or just on its own. I wrote a post dedicated to these Laura Mercier lipsticks if you would like a more in depth review and thoughts please read here!

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer in SC-3 - If you want a concealer that is full proof and does not budge, this is most definitely the concealer for you! I don't think I've come across a concealer I've loved more than this. It will cover literally the toughest of all mountain sized pimples to scars/hyperpigmentation. I like to warm the product up with my fingers to help distribute it onto my skin, as the beautiful essential oils seep out and makes the concealer a lot more emollient.

Chanel Le Blanc De Chanel illuminating base - This makes such a gorgeous base under your foundation whilst of course prolonging your foundation. I love how it has the most subtle illuminating texture as well as being super light weight. I find it helps glide your foundation on effortlessly and is great for any skin type due to its light consistency!

Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Indiscretion LE - I remember when this beauty first launch and I missed out on picking one up for myself. I was so thrilled they decided to relaunch it again as it is limited edition and I finally picked up one of the very last few they had at the counter. I think just the shape and embossing of the product is already to die for — it truly resembles the true beauty of the highlighter/illuminator making you want to stare at it all day. It gives a nice warm soft golden peachy glow and looks immaculate on the high points of your face, you can easily just keep applying and become a disco ball — but a very lovely disco ball might I say.

Jo Malone Vitamin E lip conditioner - I honestly know how ridiculously priced this is for just a lip balm but it is just so beautiful. From the sleek packaging to the scent I just love the Jo Malone Vitamin E range. I had to pick this lip balm up and each time I use it my lips always feel so hydrated and it doesn't disappear fast unlike most lip balms, it settles into your lips and continues to nourish it throughout the day.

OPI Avoplex cuticle oil to go - I've always had trouble with the growth of my nails. They've always been brittle and my nails would always break. Keeping them nice and long wasn't always easy, especially working as a makeup artist and always spraying alcohol/sanitiser on my hands my nails are constantly breaking. I finally decided to do something about it and decided to pick up the OPI cuticle oil to see how it went! From the weeks I started using it I found a drastic change in my nails and it was growing so much as well as my cuticle becoming really healthy without any dryness.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - I really want to try the other shades in this range especially Moon Stone and Pearl. Opal is such a gorgeous champagne shade that mixes so well with foundation or wearing it as a general highlight. The consistency is so smooth and melted liquid like shimmers that settle so beautifully into your skin giving it that perfect natural radiance and glow.

Clarins Instant Concealer in shade #1 - This is a concealer I keep gravitating towards hence why its in my favourites. I love how it applies, the coverage it gives as well as the light weight feel to it. It's basically in my eyes a perfect concealer that works wonders for covering up my dark under eye circles as well as highlighting and covering blemishes. The only downfall of this concealer is the range of shades that is available — only three shades. Which makes it really difficult for everyone to be able to try it. The shade #1 works perfectly for me as shade #2 is way too dark and pink tone. Shade one has a nice light neutral undertone and I'd say in MAC concealer shade reference I would say it comes off close to an NC20 and can oxidise slightly. You get an amazing amount of product in the tube (I'm pretty sure it's one of the largest concealers I've seen so far!) 15ml which is equivalent to half the amount of a typical foundation. Most days I like to wear this on its own without any foundation, so it's a great knowing you won't go through it too fast.

Burberry Brow Shaping pencil in Ash Brown #3 - I have so many brow products within my collection and they are all basically my favourites. When I first tried this brow pencil from Burberry not only is the packaging really slim but I could feel a luxurious feel when holding the product in my hand. It is a luxury to have in your collection but it definitely delivers. The slanted squared tip of the brow pencil gives you control and quick application of the product into the sparse areas of the brows and the angled tip allows you to have precision on the direction you want to apply it. I also adore the brush on the other end of the pencil, it is thin and has enough density that won't clog up with product unlike most other brushes on brow pencils. The shade Ash Brown works amazing for my dark brown/black hairs and the ash tone definitely gives you that subtle natural looking brows — which I love most.

Hourglass Lighting palette in Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light - Ever since owning this palette I've never stopped using it. When I go to sleep overs or travelling I ALWAYS have this beauty with me. I cannot be without it. I am so glad they decided to make it permanent in their collection, because when I first purchased it, it was released as a limited edition! I just find I can use all the shades perfectly on my face from highlight to bronzer to eyeshadow. I do find the shade Dim Light to be ever so slightly dark on my skin tone therefore I use it more for eyeshadow or very lightly dusting it over certain areas to set any liquids. I think if the shade Diffused Light was replaced it would most definitely be in my eyes the "perfect face palette" for me. Hourglass can honestly do know wrong, they know beauty inside and out.
