Melbourne Haul 2015

I always love a good getaway trip. At times I'd love to just pack and travel overseas more often but for the mean time I'm quite happy just travelling domestic. I need to save those monies for our future home! Our recent trip was to the beautiful city of Melbourne. It was so nice to reunite with the city that taught me so much during the start of my 20's. Reminiscing back and seeing how much the city has changed, I will always have a soft spot for Melbourne. I lived in Melbourne for 6 months in 2010, seeking new adventures and experience I decided to pack everything and explore the city all by myself whilst meeting relatives I have met only once and not known very well. It was during the time I was studying Journalism and had a passion for the industry — so what better place to endeavour that than Melbourne?

Looking back, I was so young and had so much to learn. Seeing how much I had changed and the amazing people I had met during my time there, made me realise how much I miss and love this gorgeous city. I think the most amazing thing is when you get to see the people (you had become so close to) that made your time worth while, in person again after all these years which makes it that extra bit special. I had such an amazing time going back to all the places that once held my heart. From my uncle's home in Rowville where I lived for those 6 months from the lane ways within the city to the CAE center where I did my French classes. It was really nice to come back to that very spot and see how much has changed but at the same time how it still has all the resemblance I once remembered.

My partner and I travelled to Melbourne for 8 days (11th — 19th November). I was so happy how well everything was planned and that I was able to fit in exactly everything I was hoping to do during my trip. I got to shop til' I dropped, explore so many amazing eateries, visit my relatives (my cousin also had a sleepover at our apartment), catch up and sleep over my lovely friend Tenneil's (she has the most prettiest room)! And explore as much of the city as we could. We stayed at a beautiful apartment in Docklands which accommodated perfectly for all our needs and we also hired a rental car to get us anywhere we needed to go (although we did make the most of the free tram service outside our apartment too)!.

As you can see I did a lot of damage in terms of shopping during my trip! I of course only ticked off a list of things I needed wanted to get. However in today's post I won't be posting everything I had hauled. Places like Muji, Daiso, COS, Zara, Laura Ashley, Nike, etc. I did most of my clothing/stationery shopping at but didn't document some due it not being photogenic for my liking (ah)!. I bought most of my beauty products from Myer, David Jones, Mecca, Heading Out Hair Salon, (thanks to Tenneil for the recommendation)! Etc.

Before I list all the products I had purchased I should also mention this beauty pictured above. The ever so beautiful Celine Micro Luggage in the black pebbled leather and silver hardware. This was an unexpected surprise gift from Amon for our 11th year anniversary. I honestly couldn't believe he had gifted me the bag of my dreams. I would never have thought I would be able to own such a beauty - I was thinking perhaps during my 30's I would invest in one as it is my dream bag. I am ever so grateful for such a thoughtful gift and how much thought and love he put in to getting me such a lovely present. This bag along with all my bags are my babies and I will cherish and protect them with all my might. (Crazy bag lady — alert!) I think one of the nice things that means a lot to me is how much he listens and takes notes of each detail I talk about even if it was from a while ago — he remembers it. Everything he had chosen was perfect from the black pebbled leather (I never liked the smooth leather as it creases/scratches and slouches easily) to the size (the Nano size is very cute, I love the strap — but the bag size is not as practical). I do wish the Micro came with a strap to make travelling much easier but I guess you don't want to ruin such a classic look by making it casual — need to sacrifice pain to carry this beauty around.

Since arriving back I have been setting up my new Muji drawers and taking out my old acrylic drawers as they were taking up too much unnecessary room. Surprisingly all the drawers I had previously all fitted well within my new ones. I'm not quite sure what to do with my old acrylic drawers so I just put them in my spare room where I have my freelance setup (if anyone wants them let me know)!. I'm really happy with the layout so far (yes, I am forever changing the layout of my makeup storage). This isn't the final finish as I am still working out where I should place things, but for now I am happy with it. I have SO much more space on my table now.
