Relaxation At Its Finest

If there is any perfect way to unwind after a long day, my ideal way is to take a nice hot bath filled with aroma scents with bath bombs, candles, putting a facial mask on and topped off with a nice cuppa tea. Pure bliss! I think by now you know that I only like to use the best quality of products so there's no denying when it comes down to what I use to pamper after a days work, it would only be the best.

Ashton + Harper are a 100% Australian owned and handmade company located in Adelaide. They aim for natural ingredients and supply the finest quality when it comes to their products. From using essential oils that all entwine with their custom blend of 100% ecosoya wax and organic coconut for all their candles.

I love anything and everything minimalistic, it just gives a more simple approach to it and isn't overwhelming (less is more) and just appreciating the beauty of the simplicity of the product. I adore the concept of Ashton + Harper as a brand in general, monochromatic with a simplistic elegant touch all while providing the finest ingredients and quality. When I was kindly sent this candle to review on first opening I could already smell the beautiful Rose + Pink Pepper candle lingering through the wrapping.

I can honestly have not thought of a more perfect scent to try, it's always a surprise when someone gifts you an item and when you open it and know instantly that its love at first sight (in this case also smell). Words cannot comprehend how beautiful this candle is, I find the scent to be the most unique of its kind — who would have thought rose and pink pepper would pair so well together? Kudos to them. After a few uses of this candle I have noticed how well it melts down so evenly without any residue on the sides nor blackening, so you can truly see it is great quality. Even without lighting the candle the aromas fill my room and occasionally I get whiffs of the Rose + Pink Pepper scent. I highly recommend their candles and there is nothing better than to support local brands.

Top: Pink pepper, pear and ruby red
Middle: Fuschia, peony, rose and geranium
Base: Warm vanilla and musk

Dermalogica isn't a brand that I've tried much of, so I was really excited when I was sent a few products to trial. I decided to of course give the Multivitamin Power Recovery masque a go while I have having this 'pamper session' and what better way than to have a nice treatment for your skin while it is feeling dull. The masque is targeted for aged and mature skin, but my theory is, it is better to prevent than cure so the early you treat your skin with anti-aging products the better (preferably around the age of 22 is perfect to start). It replenishes the skin with antioxidants that revitalises dull, dehydrated, stressed and photo damaged skin. It contains the amazing wonders of Vitamins A, C and E so you know you are giving your skin a great treatment. I have used this masque a few times now and can safely say I really enjoy it, I can see a noticeable difference in my skin. It is supple, smooth, soft and with so much radiance. After each use I feel like I have brand new baby butt skin, who wouldn't want that?

*Multivitamin Power Recovery masque 70ml, RRP $70 AUD

Lush have released their limited edition Christmas collection and I was again kindly sent some goodies to trial. Among these I chose to first use this pretty Stardust bath bomb, but I must admit Lush create such gorgeous products that you basically don't even want to ruin them by using it — appreciating its beauty while it lasts. The Christmas release for this year is obviously amazing as each year is, I love how creative they are with their releases and this Stardust bath bomb is no exception. When you place the Stardust bath bomb into a nice hot bath it starts to fizz and dissolve into more goodness, with a hint of blue hidden within the bath bomb and the finest of fine shimmers that float all around the waters making you feel like you are bathing in a million dollar water bath. Now the beautiful shimmering/micro glitter within the water I wasn't able to capture but just envision a luxurious and silk like feeling and when you gather the water within the palm of your hands you can truly appreciate the beauty of this product all combined with the gorgeous aromas.

*Stardust Bath Bomb 150g, RRP $6.25 AUD

Fair-trade Ugandan vanilla, precious Peruvian rosewood and bergamot.

What are your favourite ways of relaxing and pampering after a long day?

My Travel Makeup Bag

My travel makeup bags are always changing, currently this is what I am working with! Ever since I purchased the Muji Vanity Makeup Box (in size 'small') I've really enjoyed using it for my travels whether it is for a road trip, small holiday or the frequent sleep overs at a friends place (Lisa, I'm looking at you). So far out of all the makeup cases I've used in the past this one definitely tops it off. It is so reliable, sturdy material and fits the perfect amount of products I need to carry with me. If there is any room left I also like to carry a few skincare products in there as well, otherwise I will just carry my skincare in a separate case. The case has a section at the top to house some makeup brushes but some of my brushes have different sized handles and they tend to fall out of the sleeves so I don't put anything in there. When it comes to makeup and tools, I like to take along with me products that are multipurpose and cover all I need to create a simple look.

There is one product I have to give a special and individual mention to because of its multipurpose and sleek packaging. I've gravitated to this beauty ever since I had purchased it and noticed it really comes in handy for so many purposes. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette. This palette leaves you speechless when it comes to its beauty, it contains everything you need from setting powders, highlight, blush and bronzer all in a convenient travel friendly size. And not to mention the giant mirror it has as well, which is perfect for doing your makeup. I highly recommend this palette and keep in mind it is limited edition so get your hands on it before its all gone. Or, maybe it will end up being permanent since a few of their so called limited editions ended up being permanent after a while.

I know the price is quite questionable ($117 AUD), especially for the size of each pan (compared to the previous palettes) given a lot of people were expecting it to be a lot more bigger. However, I find it is a decent amount of product if you are looking for an all in one palette to take a long with you on your travels. It is also great if you haven't tried any of the Ambient powders and were interested in trialling out a few before investing in the full sizes. I find for myself I use every powder/shade that is in this palette and they all work perfectly for my complexion. The stand out of the palette for myself is the bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light - it is stunning and perhaps one day I will have to invest in the full size.

Perfume Collection

I've always love how a particular scent from a fragrance can take you through time. Each perfume you own has a meaning towards it. I've gone through many different phases of fragrances, these days I have a more acquired taste towards unique scents and brands that deliver a more subtle and minimal approach. I use to like the whole designer branded fragrances during my teenage years then after a while I wasn't as fond of them as I found they smell all too sweet. I have a box filled with all my unwanted perfumes stored under my bed, although they hold a lot of memories I just keep them there perhaps I can gift it to someone else later on when I decide to let them go. Usually my mother or sister are the ones that I end up giving my unwanted belongings to.

I think ever since entering the beauty world during my 20's and being able to afford to pay more for luxury perfumes I've never looked back. I really love the quality of brands such as Jo Malone, Tom Ford (still need to invest in one, one day), Byredo and much more. There isn't much else you can say about a perfume collection, only that I have minimised it down. The first photo with my marble tray are the perfumes I use on a daily basis, whereas the second photo are a few designer branded perfumes I still love, but I store in my wardrobe shelves and take out every now and then. My next perfume of choice is most likely to be another Byredo or Jo Malone fragrance. They are just my favourite! Is there any that you suggest I should try out, if so please let me know in the comments!
