New Products I'm Excited About

Lately I have been trying out many new products that I purchased myself as well as many I've been sent to trial. I wanted to share with you what's currently new in my beauty stash and what I am most excited about! Let me know if you would like me to do full reviews on any of the products mentioned in this post.

Bubba Blue Bamboo Face Cloths

I am always after a soft face cloth for cleansing and patting my face dry. I have a whole pile of face cloths within my skincare basket — you can never have too many! But, the most important types I've been after are ones that are soft, durable and kind to my skin. I do have many standard cotton face cloths, which I use just to dry off excess water however my main favourites are muslin cloths as well as a good quality face cloth such as these bamboo ones. They are made for babies so they're extremely gentle on the skin. I bought this in a pack of 3 and have been using it since! I really enjoy how it feels on my skin and it also does a great job at removing any of my cleansing balms/gels.

*Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque

This is a new release from Dermalogica! I love anything charcoal based, so when I received this in the mail I was extremely excited to trial it out. Charcoal is great for drawing out clogged pores from dirt and sebum build up. It is really clarifying to the skin and at times I definitely need a good detox for my t-zone. As you know Dermalogica has fast become a favourite skincare brand for me, from every product I have used so far I have seen fast and efficient results for my skin. I will be doing a full brand review on Dermalogica soon!

*Natralus Paw Paw Lip Butter

I've written a review on these lip butters in my previous post and you know these have been a go-to when it has come to my dry lips. I have been gravitating to these more, more so for the convenience of it being in a squeeze tube rather than my Nuxe Reve De Meil being in a jar. For sanitary reasons this is a definite use for on the go as well. I love the way it feels on my lips, it isn't shiny or glossy if anything it is semi-matte and I really enjoy pairing with a lipstick. It doesn't feel tacky on my lips like most lip balms, it hydrates them and has such a long lasting formula.

*Philosophy No Reason To Hide Serum

I have had dark spots for as long as I can remember. I get them mainly from the sun, pimples and just general ageing. So any products catering towards this is something I am always up for trialling! Philosophy has been a brand I've had a few hits and misses with (mainly hits). It is definitely a brand that has many amazing products, but I have found in the past some of the packaging to be a let down. This serum is definitely up my alley when it comes to packaging. With most serums they are usually (or should be) packaged in a pump bottle for preserving the goodness of the ingredients especially if they're active. The packaging for this is so sleek and very minimal — which I love. I have read through the ingredients listing and there are many great ingredients, such as active Vitamin C, botanical extracts as well as root extracts such as Licorice Root (which is my most favourite for curing dark spots).

*Uriage Depiderm Cream

Sticking with the same theme of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, this is another product I'm lusting over. Packaged in an airless dispense bottle with active ingredients such as thermal water, vectorized Vitamin C, Licorice root extract and AHA-BHA. Not only does it target dark spots but it also contains exfoliating agents that help buff away build up of dead skin cells that clog your pores, which helps the product penetrate deeper within the layers of the skin. It will be interesting to see how each of these dark spot correcting products work side by side. Uriage is another brand I have been really enjoying. I haven't heard much about their products and since using their thermal water spray, I can really see this brand offers amazing quality and ingredients with each product I use.

*Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm

I love a good cleansing balm, I think there is nothing quite like the feeling of using it with a hot muslin cloth to get your face feeling so soft and clean — so luxurious. I like to use cleansing balms in the morning to nourish and get my face prep for the day, as I don't need to use anything too stripping, as well as my night time regime to remove makeup. It contains Mangosteen extracts as well as sweet almond oils. This was part of the Maslow & Co February United Kingdom beauty box, I will be writing a post on February's beauty box very soon.

Lush Roots Hair Treatment

I have thin hair and not much of it, so I was on the hunt for a hair treatment that nourishes my scalp, roots as well as helps with hair growth. When I saw this in store and was introduced to it by the sales assistant at Lush, I was definitely sold when I heard all of the great things this treatment has to offer. From honey to fresh mint, it leaves your scalp feeling fresh and tingly with the menthol and your ends so much softer. On days when I have a headache or am feeling like my hair/roots needs a deep detoxify, this is my new go-to! I love the way it feels and how it makes my hair a lot more manageable!

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie

If there was a matte formula I would wear religiously and was an all time favourite, it would be the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. They are so long wearing, feels comfortable on the lips without being too drying due to the velvet texture and their colour range is to die for. I own quite a few of these, and there was no doubt I would keep adding more to my collection. I have so many shades I am currently lusting over but many of them were out of stock the day I went to purchase some (with my good old Myer One gift card)!. Walkyrie has been a shade I've been thinking about for quite some time, from swatching it in store a few times and awing over its beautiful shade to seeing it on Jessica Beautician's YouTube videos as her favourite. It was definitely a given that this had to be on my list for sure. I will be rocking this shade all through the rest of summer and soon to be autumn (my favourite season).

*Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob

I don't use drugstore makeup, it's just not something I gravitate towards because I strive for great quality when it comes to products I use, therefore it usually is high end. From time to time there are the odd products from the drugstore I discover that I actually really love and enjoy, enter the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners. For what you pay for and it being a drugstore brand, Rimmel is a great quality brand. If I had to choose a drugstore brand I quite enjoy, it would definitely be Rimmel. I really have been loving their new releases. These lip liners stay on your lips for hours and apply so smoothly. I love the slim packaging and it is such amazing quality. I particularly love the shade 'East End Snob' which Hello October describes as a similar dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in 'Pillow Talk'. I own both products and I can say they are quite similar. Side by side 'Pillow Talk' comes off slightly more peachy toned as opposed to 'East End Snob' leaning more towards a muted pink. These Rimmel lip liners are a definite favourite and I want to own all their shades, you have to swatch them in store if you haven't yet! I highly recommend them.

*Rimmel Kate Moss Nudes Lipstick in #45

Another drugstore product from Rimmel is the Kate Moss lipsticks. I have previously tried her lipstick range in the past and have really enjoyed them. They are beautiful lipsticks and have great shade offerings. Recently she released her 'Nudes' collection and oh my they are what you call perfect nudes that caters too all skin tones. They are so creamy and smooth on the lips with great colour pay off. My favourite shade from the collection is shade #45 and also #48.

*Pixi Glow Tonic

Wow, how long has it been since I've been wanting to try out this bad boy? I think it's been years and years. Of course, it isn't regularly available here in Australia, so when I saw it was part of the Maslow & Co United Kingdom beauty box, I was over the moon. If you haven't tried out a subscription of Maslow & Co, I highly recommend their service (as you know from my previous review). I don't think there is a better way to trial out and discover new goodies. The Pixi Glow Tonic has all kinds of ingredients that have me jumping for joy, I love everything it contains (Ginseng and Glycolic Acid, YES!) And I am always on the look out for a good exfoliating toner.

French Skincare

If there was a skincare that I would use all the time, it would be anything made by the French. They definitely know good skincare and they do it well. I always dream of my holiday to France one day where I can browse through all the French beauty stores and pharmacies, exploring all the skincare they have to offer. A few of the products in today's post I have used for years and a few I only recently started trialling for several weeks!

*Bioderma Sensibio Mask (Soothing Mask)

Bioderma has been a brand I've gravitated towards for many years now and it never seems to fail each time I use it. When I first applied this mask after I cleansed my face it felt so soothing on my skin. My skin has been quite dry lately, especially on the areas of my cheeks and this mask caters for a good hydration needed for my skin. I apply a thick layer all over my face (avoiding the eye area) and let it settle into the skin for about 10-15 minutes. After, I use a muslin cloth rinsed in warm water to take the mask off. I pat my skin dry and immediately notice how vibrant and glowing my skin looked. It was plump, supple and so soft. I highly recommend this mask if you are looking for a good boost of hydration for dry skin, it is catered to sensitive skin and most skin types too.

*Uriage Eau Thermale D'uriage (Thermal Water)

These types of thermal water sprays seem like another unnecessary product when it comes to skincare. Some may think it is just a gimmick, others find it a holy grail. For myself, I find it a holy grail, mainly because I find throughout the day (as well as night) I like to have a good sprits of hydration to wake my skin. Whether I am wearing makeup or not I find this thermal spray really gives my skin a boost of hydration and evens out my makeup, when I am wearing it. I've tried many thermal sprays and I find the Uriage thermal spray to be my favourite so far! It is enriched with minerals and protects the skin from free radicals. With the harsh sun or indoor air pollution you want to make sure you are keeping your skin refreshed. I love misting this all over my face and I keep it handy in my bag all the time.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel (Lip Balm)

I've been using this lip balm for many years now and can definitely say I haven't found anything else quite like it. I use it for many purposes, for day time I apply a little amount over my lips to prep them while I do my makeup. I only apply a small amount as it has a very heavy consistency. Therefore at night time I love to apply a generous amount all over my lips and use it as a lip scrub, as it has small particles that are exfoliating for the lips. The next morning my lips are left so smooth and soft and the lip balm stays on all night without budging. You can feel the residue on your lips the following morning. It also has a matte consistency and I find that is mainly why it stays locked into your lips. Even my boyfriend really enjoys using this lip balm and I bought a jar just for himself to use. He is quite picky and won't use any lip balms that are glossy, which is why this lip balm is his go-to as well! It really works wonders!

*Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (Multi-purpose Dry Oil)

I've tried the Nuxe dry oil that contains shimmers a few years ago and although I did enjoy it, I didn't use it as much as the shimmers got in the way of the uses I wanted to use it for. Since trying this dry oil with NO shimmer I have fallen even more in love with this dry oil. It instantly absorbs into your skin and hair (where ever you apply it to) leaving it nourished and silky smooth and is multi-purpose! I love the scent it gives, it doesn't linger for too long but if you smell where you've applied it, it smells amazing. I love using it for stretch marks, cuticles, ends of my hair and any dry areas of my face and body. It contains plant oils such as macadamia, hazelnut, borage, sweet almond, camellia, John's wort and Vitamin E.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O (Micelle Solution)

This is another product I have used for years and is a permanent product in my skincare regime. I've tried many micellar waters and although some do the job I haven't found they don't work quite as well as the original Bioderma. I've tried a few of their different offerings from their other range from the Sebium and Hydrabio. I enjoy all the ranges! The micellar water removes the first layer of makeup for me before I double cleanse afterwards. I like to use it especially to remove my eye makeup, by soaking a cotton pad of the micellar water over my eyes for a few seconds and it instantly removes majority of my eye makeup (as well as waterproof). The micellar water is also great as a morning cleanse or throughout the day to gently and quickly cleanse your skin. It removes any dirt and sebum residue left from the night before.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (Facial Cream)

I bought this facial cream (and a few back ups) a few years ago from IMATS in Sydney. I've read a lot about this cream and loved the idea of it, especially for my makeup kit. It works well with most skin types and is a great for base for makeup. With all skin types needing hydration this facial cream instantly absorbs into your skin and leaves it supple and moisturised. It contains natural wheat proteins, hyaluronic acid, sweet almond, beeswax, antioxidants as well as vitamins A, E & F. I mainly use this moisturiser during the day before applying my makeup and highly recommend it if you're looking for a fail-proof facial cream to use daily.

Have you tried any of these French skincare products before? What are your thoughts towards French skincare?

What I Can't Stop Wearing

I've noticed lately that I have been gravitating to the same products over and over again. Sometimes it's nice to embrace the products you really enjoy, it's not always about trying new products all the time. I find the reason I can't stop wearing these products is because throughout time I've realised they work well on me and I can always rely on them each time. I know how they work on me and each time I wear these products they make me feel good. Basically you can say they are my safety net when it comes to something I can apply effortlessly without having to worry if it will suit me or not.
