Let's Catch Up! #4

I always feel like I need to do a catch up post when I've been away from my blog for a while. I think it's a great way to overall catch up with what's been happening as well as a few little bits and pieces I want to update you on. This will be all random updates that come to my mind.

The Mr and I invested in a new custom made bed frame. We are waiting for it to be finished which will take around 2 months. I am anxiously waiting for the phone call/update to tell us that it will be delivering soon. I am so excited because it is the type of bed frame I've always wanted. It is a wooden frame with material cushion covering and the bedhead has those button designs on it, we also added in side drawers for storage purposes.

I feel like I've been struggling with keeping my home area tidy, like I usually do. As of late, things have been so messy within my room, storage, car, etc. No matter how many times I clean or tidy it, it goes messy straight away. Not sure what is happening as I am never one to be messy. I think lately I've been so occupied with many things to do and I feel a little run down. Maybe, I am also lacking motivation in terms of decorating and interior. I need some inspiration, what are your go-to's or ways of inspiration you use to spark that fire for keeping maintenance within your environment? Sometimes, I think that it's because we don't have our new bed frame yet and at the moment we are just sleeping on our mattress waiting for it to arrive. Our current bed frame (from Ikea) is broken therefore we had to unassembled it — which is also why we had to get a new bed because our old metal bed frame was getting too old and had definitely seen better days.

I've been going to a lot of bookstores lately and have picked up The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I've had my negative thoughts about this book, seeing all these typical YouTubers talking about it hours on end and how I can clearly see they don't really abide by any of the content. Especially when you can see they hoarder a heap of things through several hauls right after "clearing out" their belongings. Which I find pointless, maybe a few random purchases here and there, but c'mon, haul after haul definitely defeats the purpose of this book?

Though, I've never been really interested in this book by any means, I have found myself gravitating to it each time I am in a bookstore.  To be completely honest, I've been more curious about her new release book Spark Joy, as to me, it seems to be a more in-depth/straight to the point version of her first edition. I also like how it has step by step demonstrations of things such as how to fold your clothes, storage ideas , etc. I think I may invest in this book at some stage. I've been doing a little research to see which edition I should pick up and so far Spark Joy seems to be one I am quite intrigued by. Have you read these books before? What are you thoughts? Do you think this will help me with building up my organisational skills again?

My cook book collection has been slowly growing, with a few new additions I bought on sale  from Kikki.K I picked up The Summer Table by Lisa Lemke and from K-mart I picked up Vegetarian by The Cook Book Co. I'm eager to try out more vegetarian options and various recipes that I haven't tried before. As you know, cooking is very therapeutic for me and I really enjoy discovering new ways to be creative. Another hobby I have been building up on is calligraphy writing. I've been doing this for a while now and have been adding more accessories towards that. Things such as new nibs and handles to use since I like to experiment with different sizes. I am hoping to one day attend a class where I can learn to master the art of calligraphy, for now it is just a fun hobby I like to practice with.

I've been loving many things lately, an array of things that have been on my lust list! If you would like me to do an in-depth favourites post, let me know! Other than that, here is my quick updated current favourites!
